When Jane (Teresa Pavlinek) has no luck meeting people in her apartment building, she takes some of Susan's (Patricia Zentilli) advice on neighborly relations and starts to make some headway. It turns out it's a real little community around there - summer drinks on the roof, the Tuesday morning coffee club and, best of all, the mid week bust up. Someone named Lisa was going to host this week, but now that neighbor Gloria is dating Lisa's ex-boyfriend, Frank, Lisa's backed out. This is Jane's big chance. She decides to host the party! But Jane's party is not without its challenges: Mrs. Halliman (Wilma Murray) loads a tray of appetizers into her purse. Walton (Darren Boyd) shows up, dressed to the nines, and carrying a kielbassa for Jane who's a vegetarian. Frank (Constantine Alex Kazia) flirts outrageously with Jane. Gloria (Shoshana Sperling) catches them, prompting her to hit the bottle after three months of sobriety. She starts hurling accusations at Jane. Jane tosses a few back at Gloria, storms off, and bumps into Frank who spills his drink down the front of her dress. Frank wipes the spill. Walton thinks Jane is being assaulted, and sucker punches Frank. Frank collapses; Gloria runs to his side. Jane picks a stray piece of spanakopita from her dress - and wonders why she invited these people in the first place. Some party! Meanwhile, Susan gets a promotion to work with senior project manager Brady O'Flynn on the new product catalogue. But no sooner is she planted in her new digs than she realizes she's directly adjacent to the boss' private washroom - and it's not soundproof. |
