When Steve (Todd Hofley), the newest temporary member of the Spirits team, is brought in to help with the new catalogue launch, Jane(Teresa Pavlinek) takes him under her wing, and teaches him the tricks of the trade. A real keener, Steve helps Jane with her heavy workload, backs her choice of Karaoke for Friday night's office function, and even helps her coordinate the event. Steve is everything Jane is not - young, male, gay - and yet Jane feels a kinship with him. She fantasizes about the two of them hanging out together, shopping for linens, trying on clothes, vying for the same gorgeous guys. In fact, Steve is gunning for Jane's job; and sabotaging her career. But when Jane realizes what's happening, Susan (Patricia Zentilli) calls her paranoid and resistant to losing the new girl title. On Friday night, just as the team is heading out to the Karaoke bar, Stella (Kate Trotter) fumes that Jane neglected to fill an important order. Of course, Jane knows this was all part of Steve's nefarious master plan - and now she has to stay behind and set things right. But when she discovers an incriminating letter written by Steve to his supposedly dead mother, Jane finally has the ammunition to expose the fraud - and she knows where to find him. |
